Event Engadin St. Moritz
Advent and Christmas carols
Description
Advent and Christmas carols
What would the Advent and Christmas season be without the familiar songs? The rich treasure trove of these songs includes very old pre-Reformation tunes, Martin Luther's and later Paul Gerhardt's Christmas carols, shepherd's and nativity play songs from the 19th century and also Christmas carols from the Biedermeier period. The songs of Gian Battista Fritschun from the 'Cudesch da Schlarigna' are part of the valuable and unmistakable cultural heritage in the Engadine.
Together we sing the most beautiful Advent and Christmas carols from the Reformed hymnal and from the Romansh Coral. Jürg Stocker accompanies on the organ. In between, interesting facts about the songs and texts for Advent. The meeting point is on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 5:15 p.m. in the Reformed Church Plaz Samedan (main church in the center of the village). Duration until approx. 6:15 p.m. Entrance free. No previous vocal knowledge necessary.
