E.1027 – Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea

In 1929, the Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge on the Côte d'Azur. She calls it E.1027, a cryptic combination of her initials and those of Jean Badovici, with whom she built it. When Le Corbusier discovers the house, he is fascinated and obsessed.
"E.1027" is a cinematic journey into the world of thought of avant-garde design icon and architect Eileen Gray. The film reconstructs her dramatic story and that of her breathtakingly beautiful house. In addition, he tells of the power of female expression and the desire of men to control it.
