Description

In the morning we take the Scaletta Pass. A sounding name for all bikers, whether alpine crossers or day trippers. After a loose but steady uphill it gets steeper and steeper. At some point, Maik, Jan and Ade will also get off the bike: too steep, pushing. At the top, the highlight of the day awaits: a challenging S2 trail.

With adrenaline in our veins, we approach the most unpopular pass of this Transalp: the Chaschauna Pass: steep, disgusting, pushing, hard. The mountain is notorious and anything but a pass, which is then called a dream pass. The descent is on gravel and unspecacular.

The whole day we were there over 1500m, an interesting landscape is waiting for us.

Other descriptions:

Scalettapass

The first part after the pass to Alp Funtauna at 2192m is only a very narrow Singeltrail, for which experienced riders are needed. From Alp Funtauna, a wide gravel road leads down through the beautiful Val Susauna into the Upper Engadine.

Chaschauna Pass

... you only have to push for about 20 minutes and the descent down to Livigno is easily drivable.
