Description
Engadin 2024 - 01
Diavolezza RhB - Fuorcla Pischa - Alp Languard
On the road on the first tour in the Engadin this year. Despite the somewhat modest weather forecast, we did not miss it and planned a mountain tour - and almost completely - pulled it through.
The start was at the RhB Diavolezza station. Here we were greeted by a drizzle for a long time. The climb went very well and the trail is in an unexpectedly good condition. Judging by the tracks, we were probably almost numbers 1 and 2 here this year. Shortly before point 2821 we reached two large snowfields 50 meters below the edge, which we did not follow the path, but climbed over the rocks. In my opinion, relegation is not recommended here at the moment.
The plateau welcomed us with deep sulz and so the intention to climb the Albris was discarded quite quickly.
Over the Fuorcla Pischa we more or less followed the summer path, even if it is still under at least one meter of sulz. In some cases, there was also an obligatory burglary up to the 'ass'.
Via Suot Albris we left the altitude behind us as quickly as possible and were very pleased that the steep descent to Lej Languard was snow-free.
From here on top conditions again, even if the mountain streams carrying a lot of water posed minor or medium problems for one or the other hiker with sneakers.
We saved ourselves the descent and took the chairlift back to Pontresina.
