Directions

For the first stage, use the Corvatschbahn (tickets available for ski tourers). From the mountain station of the Corvatschbahn (3297 m) short descent on the slope over the top ramp, then between the snow groomer tracks created for snow guards in a south-southeast direction to a marker pole. Behind it through the next hollow to another marker pole and on a narrow ledge through a rock bar (rope to hold onto, can be slid in good snow conditions, otherwise better on foot). A terrain basin is crossed to the next rock ridge (marker pole). On foot steeply over a rock fall (rope to hold onto, it's best to secure yourself with a sling!) into a glacier basin. This is crossed slightly downhill to a pole. Behind it a short descent and following the marker poles in a long traverse to the south, at the end to the southeast to the Coazhütte. Immediately behind the hut, a short steep climb to the lateral moraine, then a flat traverse to the glacier. Here you keep slightly uphill towards the southeast, cross flat under a glacier upswing to the east and climb behind it between the crevasses (left) and the glacier upswing (right) into a glacier basin (approx. 2880 m). There a wide hollow opens up, which leads above the glacier upswing to the southwest. First flat, then increasingly steeper between the crevasse zones up into a glacier basin and further southwest. Pass a rock bar on the left and keep right behind it onto a wide snow plateau and to the rocks on the western edge (3406 m). For most of them, they count as a goal; the actual, slightly higher summit La Muongia on the northern edge of the plateau requires easy climbing (ZS-).

Departure:
Same as ascent, although variants are possible depending on snow conditions and crevasse situation. From the Coazhütte you can take the Chapütschin the next day and from there descend towards Furtschellas. If you want to descend through the Val Roseg after the summit, follow the ascent track to the glacier basin, from where the tracks lead back to the hut to the left. Here you continue northeastwards to the eastern glacier edge of Vadret da Roseg and cross over to Vadret da la Sella. Either up or just west of the glacier to the glacier tongue and partly steeply down to Lej da Vadret in Val Roseg. Flat out to Roseg (1999 m) and on to Pontresina.
