Morteratsch (1890 m) -Capanna Boval (2495 m)

Excursion that develops following the left hydrographic bank of the Morteratsch Valley which is home to the glacier of the same name that descends from the southern slope of Mount Bernina

From the parking lot (1890m), we cross two bridges over the torr. Ova, we reach the Morteratsch railway station (1895m), cross the tracks of the legendary Bernina railway and take the path up the Morteratsch Valley. After 1.2 km we come to a sequence of crossroads: the first crossroads proposes the path to Pontresina on the right, the second crossroads in loc. Chunetta, proposes a path on the right that a little higher offers a panoramic point on the glacier, the third junction (2053m) proposes a path that descends to the left into the Morteratsch Valley to connect to the path at the bottom of the valley that allows you to reach the front of the glacier tongue. The climb is long and it takes another 4 km to reach the Capanna Boval (2495m), from which you can admire the great grandeur of the glacier which is the third in the Alps, in the ranking of lengths
