Piz Chalchagn

Little done, here you are mostly alone!

From Pontresina train station to Tais Spa Concert Square to Muottas da Puntraschigna. The created hiking trail led first through forest, over stone stairs, along a rock face to the tree line. At the top, the area widened and you reached a high plateau, a former alpine pasture. Keep right on a narrow path to the ridge at Muot d'Mez. From there the path is marked with Steinmännchen and you follow the ridge. From Chalchagn Pitschen you can see the steep summit slope. Descent over the short exposed ridge to Pt. 2772, then further up to the summit of Piz Chalchagn, 3154 m. Descent to Morteratsch on gravel hand in which trail tracks can be seen. After the gravel slope without a recognizable path straight down to the path that leads to the Boval hut (above the side moraine). On this down to Morteratsch. 

From Mortaratsch by train back to Pontresina.
