Piz Misaun

The start is in Morteratsch. At the beginning, the hut path of the Bovalhütte is followed. At this point, where a path leads down to the Morteratsch glacier (signpost), you leave the Hüttenweg in a northerly direction. Continue over the forest clearing Chünetta, and then steeply up to Chünetta Sur, and again steep, gradually exceeding the tree line, to a terrace at 2650 meters. On this terrace the view of the Bernina massif is free. Flat it continues in a southeasterly direction, after a steep step past the Lejets da Boval to the saddle without name between Piz Misaun and P. 3076. From this nameless gap a short distance along the ridge and finally evasive to the north side of the summit and back to the ridge. The northeastern summit slope can often not be walked on skis, as the snow is usually blown away here. Therefore, the last 50 meters of altitude are covered on foot.

The descent takes place up to the nameless gap via the ascent route. From here over a small glacier in a north-northwest direction. Above the tree line, it is advisable to check your own location so that the right route through the forest is chosen. Steep it goes here through the forest all the way into the valley, where preferably the trail is targeted and walked to Pontresina.

If you have parked your car in Morteratsch, you can easily take the train back to the starting point.
