Description

You start at the Clozza fountain near the Ospidal Scuol. There is fresh mineral water here. For a few meters you follow the road uphill. At the bend, go straight along the river towards the source of Clozza and you come to the hiking trail towards Flöna – Motta Naluns. Through the forest and through the impressive Clozza Gorge it goes on a path sometimes more, sometimes less steep to Flöna. The first 3 km and almost 500 m of altitude are done. Along a clearing, the trail continues uphill. During the alpine season, the cowbells accompany you here. After 600 m, turn right and follow the path towards Motta Naluns. Here the path is evenly steep. Shortly before the intermediate finish of Motta Nalun, it gets steep again and the S-curves really make the pulse rise. At Motta Naluns you can end the tour and take the gondola down to Scuol. Or you can follow the road in the direction of Chamanna Naluns – Piz Clünas and cover another 1.8 km and 200 m ascent. Here you can already hear the first whistles of the marmots and the summit destination beckons. From the Palma mountain restaurant (only open in winter), a beautiful trail begins on the slope that leads to Alp Clünas. After a few meters on the road, follow the signpost and turn onto the steep mountain path to Piz Clünas. On the last 1.5 km you complete 350 m, first zigzagging through alpine meadows and past avalanche barriers, at the end steeply in the fall line through rather slippery terrain. At the summit you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Lower Engadine Dolomites on the opposite side of the valley as well as towards Piz Buin and the Silvretta Group in a northwesterly direction.

For the descent, we recommend the path in a northerly direction to Lai da Minschun back to Alp Clünas and on the ascent path back to the Motta Naluns mountain station.
