Details

Description

The Val Bregaglia Trail is a sportive contribution to connect the Swiss and Italian parts of the Bergell. In 960, Emperor Otto I had assigned the upper part of the valley to the Bishop's County of Chur and the lower part to the Bishop's County of Como.

The circular tour begins and ends in Chiavenna. Depending on the direction in which you run the circular tour, you start the trail through the shady slopes south of the valley floor. From Caccior, the trail descends again, now on the sunny side.
