Vals

Deep in the Vals Valley, a side valley of the Surselva, lies the mountain village of Vals. Around the village square there are still original Walser houses covered with stone slabs of Vals quartzite. The valley owes its wilderness and diversity in a very small area to the forces of the water.

7132 Therme

In Vals, you can relax yourself at Therme 7132, built by the famous architect Peter Zumthor from no less than 60,000 plates of Valser quartzite – for example, with massages or in the fire and ice baths.

Valser Water World

Here you can learn how the water gets into the mineral water bottle after 25 years of travelling through the mountain. Free guided tours take place every Wednesday at 10.00 am.

Cross-Country Ski Trail

The only cross-country ski trail in the valley runs for four kilometres along the Rhine in Vals. The circular track from the village centre to Gäud and back is also suitable for beginners.

3-Lakes Hike

The 3-lake-hike around Ampervreila, Selva and Guraletsch Lake offers views of the mountain range and quiet picnic spots. On the detour to the Selva Alp, you can try the fine Alp cheese.
