Access Älplibahn - Schesaplanahütte

From the mountain station of the Älplibahn, the hike to the northwest leads more or less horizontally to the Jeninser Mittelsäss and on to the Maienfelder Vorderalp.  Follow the road to the north, up to the ridge (2030 m), continue on the road to the first bend to the right, there turn slightly left and follow the more or less horizontal footpath on the eastern flank of the Glegghorn into the Fläscher valley to the lower Fläschersee 1889 m. Walk north around the lake and then turn right to the east on a footpath through sparse forest a little downhill to the road that leads from the Fläscher Alp Sarina to the Maienfelder Alp Ijes 1942 m up. 

Then first horizontally east- later southeastwards about 1.2 km and around the rock head (2143m) in front of the Barthümeljoch, then slightly descending / ascending, partly slightly exposed a good 2 km to the east to the saddle nördl. P1822 (35 min). Then about 500m east down and horizontally north and southeast over open meadows to Alp Fasons, continue on road to Altsäss and Schesaplanahütte.

The Älplibahn comprises 2 cabins of 4 people each and has limited capacity. An early reservation under Tel. +41 (0)81 322 47 64 is therefore essential.
