Description

The Hahnensee, in Rhaeto-Romanic Lej dals Chöds, is a mountain lake in the Engadin. It is located on the territory of the two municipalities Silvaplana and St. Moritz at an altitude of 2153 meters above sea level. The picturesque lake lies in the middle of a larch forest on a high plateau above the St. Moritz. The Hahnensee and its surroundings are under nature protection.

Right next to the lake you can enjoy a meal in the restaurant Hahnensee. There is also a playground near the lake.

The Hahnensee is a popular destination for hikers in summer. Hiking trails lead for example from Lej Marsch (about 1h), Champfèr and St. Moritz (about 1h30min) or Silvaplana (about 1h45min) to the Hahnensee.
