Spazi d'art Matias Spescha
The estate of the artist Matias Spescha is preserved and mediated in Trun. In the former industrial hall, exhibitions are held that present Spescha's works.
Description
"Basically, the highest level of art would be reached if my work remained where I was, if I went away." (Matias Spescha, 2006)
Matias Spescha's great wish, expressed two years before his death, came true in its entirety: After the realisation of his heart project, the monumental open-air sculpture OGNA, opened posthumously in 2013 near the banks of the Rhine in Trun, exactly 10 years later the complete work in the form of his artistic estate has now also found a home in the artist's homeland. For this purpose, a spacious light-flooded exhibition hall was prepared in the former cloth factory.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Matias Spescha (1925-2008), Trun Cultura is organising three major exhibitions in honour of the internationally renowned artist. Over the course of 2025, Gaspare O. Melcher, Corsin Fontana and Not Vital will each present their own encounter with the multifaceted work of Matias Spescha.
In their exhibitions, the artists present current works, which they bring together with selected works by Matias Spescha, from paintings and sculptures to drawings and prints.
