Description
The high voltage power lines that run through the Valposchiavo are an unavoidable effect of modern life, which would be impossible without electricity. By enhancing this route, we have made a virtue out of necessity: the trail follows the high voltage power lines but rewards the bikers with amazing views over the valley
From Poschiavo, whose square is surrounded by magnificent patrician houses, it goes to the new monastery. Here starts the climb to the southeast on an asphalted road. The Singletrail starts just above Cologna and leads through woods and glades. The view sweeps on the opposite side of the valley. Above the Lake di Poschiavo the trail descends to the valley floor. Along the lakeshore and via Le Prese the route ends with a leisurely, flat section in Poschiavo.
Although the trail is not long, it is technically demanding. Short and steep climbs and challenging downhills require concentration and mountain bike handling skills. As the trail lies on the sunny side of the mountain and never overcomes 1300 m a.s.l, it is open almost all year round.

More than 100 years ago it went into operation: the Bernina Line. In 1910, direct train service was started between St. Moritz and Tirano. 61 kilometres of the highest architecture against the backdrop of the highest mountain in Graubünden. This special treat, which leads past the mighty Palü and Morteratsch glaciers, which combines southern joie de vivre and alpine beauty, can be experienced every day on the Bernina Express. But sometimes you take your breath away because of the exposed curves and the overwhelming mountain panorama.
