Description

With the ascents to the Ochsenalp and Hörnlihütte above Arosa, you will really get going on the first stage. As a reward, an unforgettable descent to Lenzerheide awaits you. The route continues on flowing single trails and forest roads. If you don't have any more "grains", you can easily board the Postbus in Tiefencastel for the transfer to your destination Savognin.

Geheimtipp

In Savognin there is a wonderful swimming lake for a perfect cooling in hot temperatures.

Directions

From Chur main station, take the Postbus to Tschiertschen and start a little later on the steep ascent to Ochsenalp. Up to the Carmenna-Hütte above Arosa, the terrain is somewhat more moderate, then the path leads steeply up again to the Hörnlihütte. The single trail to Urdenfürggli is considered a mountain bike classic, but is not easy to ride. Especially on the final ascent, most of them push the bike. But the effort is worth it: The long descent to Lenzerheide is legendary and leads after the Scharmoin middle station on the flow route of the Lenzerheide Bike Park to the valley station. After the town centre, follow the trail along the main road. At the golf course you turn sharply right and drive to the settlement of Chividains and continue on a wonderful flow trail high above the inconspicuous gorge. A mix of single trail and forest roads leads to Tiefencastel station. In Tiefencastel you preferably take the Postbus to the stage destination Savognin. If you want to get to the village on your own, drive on a little-used mountain road to a small, nameless pass above the village of Mon. This ascent can also be mastered by Postbus. The following descent to Savognin leads over gravel and asphalt roads, but largely traffic-free. The first stage of the three-day Graubünden crossing has thus been completed. After German-speaking Chur, Savognin has reached the Rhaeto-Romanic cultural area of Graubünden.

Effective distance kilometers on the bike: 41 km.
