Gebiet Sardona-Segnas-Gruppe

The mountain with the resounding name Piz Sardona in the border area of the cantons of St. Gallen, Glarus and Graubünden gave its name to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona. Verrucano rocks lie directly on top of the thin hole side limestone band and flysch rocks. In the direction of Calfeisental and Flims there are glaciers that have lost a lot of length and volume in recent years. In front of it, beautiful moraines, glacial cuts and gravel meadows are recognizable.
