History and architectural history: The chapel was built in 1660 and consecrated in 1662. In the visitation protocol of 1643 there is no mention of St. Andrew's Chapel at Lumbrein.
Building description: The uniformly baroque, south-east facing complex consists of a rectangular nave and a recessed, square choir, both covered with bony cross vaults. Rectangular windows with arched reveals. Entrance smooth round-arched, and is located in the northwest front. On the façade the dates 1660 and 1666.
The tower stands on the northeast side of the choir, has round-arched sound windows and a baroque dome.
Murals: The little church is completely painted. In the choir on the end wall there is a larger drapery, which served as a frame for the former altar. In the sign on the left are St. Placidus and Sigisbert. In the background, the monastery church of Disentis in front of the new building and the Caschliun castle there. The high altar (made of wood) is a structure consisting of four winding columns and a curved pediment with a canopy.
Altar fragments: From the altar parts and sculptures placed in this chapel as well as other fragments kept in the rectory, it is possible to reconstruct two Gothic winged altars, which were certainly once in the parish church of Lumbrein.
Bells: With inscriptions, 1660.
