A small but fine private exhibition of antique views of Hinterrhein and the surrounding area - mostly from the first half of the 20th century.
Description
Elisabeth Hasler-Stoffel has been a passionate collector of postcards and lithographs for years and has now made this treasure accessible to anyone interested.
The photos of yesteryear bring the "world of yesterday" back to life - that of our village, the St. Bernard Pass, the Rhine Forest, but also that of its neighbouring valleys (Mesolcina, Valsertal, Valle San Giacomo), with which the neighbourhood was lived - more so than today - as a result of the pass system and mutual economic and family ties (muleteers, horse-drawn post).
The cellar and the "Ställi", where Elisabeth's great-grandfather Joseph Stoffel kept his small livestock, were cleared out and prepared for the exhibition, which opened with a vernissage on 20 September 2020.
