The chapel, which was designed by Peter Zumthor, is located a few hundred meters from the old location. The timber construction integrates elements of local construction, is at the same time traditional, but also very modern. The teardrop-shaped floor plan plays with natural geometric shapes, while inside skylights and lots of wood give the room a warm and light atmosphere.

The chapel of Laus was built in 1587 and consecrated on August 3, 1592. The patron saints are the two saints Laurentius (Romanesque s. Luregn) and Sebastianus (Romanesque s. Bistgaun). The Capuchins demolished the old church in 1695 and replaced it with a new building.
