In Switzerland, 144,000 people live with dementia. Dealing with this disease is a major challenge for everyone: relatives, caregivers and visitors.
COURSE CONTENT
Dementia requires a lot of empathy, understanding and tolerance. The course provides basic knowledge about different forms of dementia and their effects on everyday life. Using case studies from practice, the participants practice dealing with particularly challenging situations. In "Validation", they learn about a method that increases access to
dementia sufferers, confused and mostly elderly people.
THE PARTICIPANTS
• receive information on the different forms of dementia;
• recognize signs and symptoms of dementia;
• develop strategies for coping with difficult situations;
• reflect on their own possibilities and limitations;
• use the offer as a networking platform.
