Butterfly excursion

On the excursion we will take a closer look at the butterflies. A butterfly is a butterfly that is mainly active during the day. So that the participants can study the butterflies in peace, the different species are caught and released again. You can try to determine the species yourself. At this time of year, the butterfly fauna is still manageable - in good weather, 20 to 30 species can be expected. On the way we try to find the caterpillar food plants of the butterflies. There are individual butterfly species whose caterpillars develop on only one plant species. However, most are more flexible and will eat all plants in a genus or family. During the excursion, the needs of the butterflies will be explained, so that afterwards you will get a feel for the habitat and know where to look for butterflies in the future.
