Art Talk "Shadow Play"

with the artist Chris Hunter and curator Damian Jurt in the exhibition "Schattenspiel"

Last February, the artist Chris Hunter (*1983, Flims) visited our collection depot together with the art educators Alexa Giger and Laura Gonzalez and the children of the third grade of the Nikolai Chur schoolhouse. In the process, they came across a portrait showing Anna von Planta, who once lived in the Villa Planta of the Kunstmuseum. It almost seemed as if the ghost of Anna von Planta came out of the painting before the curious eyes of the children. This was also the birth of the exhibition theme: The Spirits of Art. This was followed by workshops in the studio and in the forest. Masks, costumes and dwellings were created. Chris Hunter filmed a shadow play of the children and recorded their sounds in the forest. In the first room of the exhibition, the sworn group creates an installation made of branches. It is reminiscent of a forest clearing and leads into an exhibition that creates associative relationships in the interplay between collection works and video projections.
