Benefit concert

Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, known as Sri Swamiji for short, is known in India as one of the great masters of traditional yoga teachings. Outside India, he reaches audiences with his special benefit concerts, which he has been giving for almost forty years in churches, auditoriums of schools or renowned concert halls such as the Zurich Tonhalle, the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Each meditation concert of Sri Swamiji has its own name. The name of this concert in Lenzerheide, "Antar Mukha Raga Sagara", means as much as the opening to an (inner) ocean of sounds.

Sri Swamiji's music is unique. It is based on Indian ragas (melodies) and talas (rhythms). He also calls it "Music for Meditation and Healing". With the synthesizer, he imitates the sounds of various instruments. At times, they are reminiscent of the diverse sounds of nature and the elements. In his music, he emphasizes the effect and experience of the individual tones.

He will be accompanied by the Celestial Message Troupe, four magnificent Indian musicians on violin, flute, Mrdangam and tabla. The interplay with the ensemble of musicians takes place in an alternation of virtuoso and demanding solos and melodious, sometimes lively and cheerful passages, which invite the listener to relax.

Sri Swamiji's music is timeless. It unfolds its invigorating power when the listeners engage with it without analysing it.

The proceeds of the benefit concert in Lenzerheide will benefit the various humanitarian and social institutions of the Avadhoota Datta Peetham in India founded by Sri Swamiji, such as the hospital, the primary schools, the school for speech-impaired children or the food donation.
