Cinema Tribuna: "soras" in Ilanz

Corin Curschellas and Irina Ungureanu, the Romansh and Romanian singers, are both great voices of their folk song tradition and are known for their unmistakably unique approach to musical legacy. The origin of Romanian and Romansh is based on Latin, but as close as the linguistic relationship is, the songs sound very different.

Since their first musical encounter, Irina Ungureanu and Corin Curschellas have been mutually fascinated and surprised by the astonishing linguistic similarities and the striking differences of the traditional songs. Together with accordionist Patricia Draeger, violinist Andrea Kirchhofer, and cellist Barbara Gisler, the five musicians, who are well connected in the scene, are looking for a new, idiosyncratic and special "alloy" of the two song traditions and explore all possibilities in the arrangements.
