The goal of the circular economy, in contrast to the linear economic model, is to keep things and materials in circulation for as long as possible. If a product is to consume as few resources as possible over its entire life cycle, it needs a rethink right from the start. Environmental considerations are incorporated into the development of products from the very beginning of ecodesign.
