In his moving oratorio of 1877, A. Dvorak takes up the painful suffering of Mother Mary over the death of Jesus in ten verses.
The work unites choir, soloists and symphony orchestra.
Dvořák processed the loss of his own children in his composition.
"Stabat Mater" becomes a deeply spiritual journey that celebrates human suffering and hopeless redemption.
Slavic melodies and orchestral sophistication lend the work a cultural identity that carries divine suffering into human hearts.

The conductor Daniela Brantschen brings Stabat Mater to the stage as her debut as director of the Bündner Singkreis with the participation of the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden.
