The Abou Samra Quintet is a dynamic jazz quintet from Lucerne that plays an energetic mix of different genres of jazz, Arabic classical and folk music. The band members all have a long musical history and bring a variety of influences to the music. Together, they create a pulsating atmosphere that encounters and tries to touch the audience on an emotional level. The repertoire includes original compositions by Samir Rachide and Felix Geidel as well as new interpretations and arrangements of existing popular pieces with Western and Arabic roots. The quintet was founded by Samir Rachide in March 2023.
