In this exhibition, you can see and hear about the history of Graubünden folk music and its development up to the present day. The focus is on folk music in the Schanfigg.
Texts, pictures, posters, musical instruments, sound recordings, musical examples and portraits of former Ländler kings as well as today's Ländler bands illustrate the various topics: the roots of folk music, "Seppli and Fränzli music", the beginnings of Ländler music and its popularisation in the cities, the "Bündner Stil", the dissemination of folk music through the media, consolidation and stagnation, folk music on the move, "new folk music".
The exhibition adopts some of the content and design elements of the exhibition "Grenzenlos lüpfig. Folk Music in Graubünden", which was shown at the Rhaetian Museum in 2023/24.
It was curated by Silvia Conzett.
Opening on Saturday, 28.12.24, 5.30 p.m. with music (Jakob Jeker, Schiers) and aperitif.
