Event Arosa Lenzerheide
Die Giacometti-Trilogie: Giovanni
Description
The life and work of the three famous artists from Bergell, Augusto, Giovanni, and Alberto Giacometti, will be presented in individual lectures by Reto Bonifazi. This lecture will focus on Giovanni Giacometti. Giovanni Giacometti (1868 – 1933) was not only the father of Alberto Giacometti but, alongside Ferdinand Hodler, one of the most significant Swiss painters at the beginning of the 20th century. Initially still under the spell of Giovanni Segantini, he freed himself from his divisionism and developed a fascinating color painting style, without losing sight of the objectivity. The lecture will introduce you to his thoughts and creations. More info about the Cultural Winter program at www.arosakultur.ch/
