Sofia, a bright and ambitious 17-year-old volleyball player, lives in a poor suburb in Brazil. On the eve of an important tournament that could determine her future, she learns of her unwanted pregnancy. But ending them – in a country that criminalizes abortion – is almost impossible. Together with her friend and her teammates, Sofia forges a plan and is therefore targeted by religious fundamentalists. The powerful and emancipatory debut film tells in an inspiring way about the everyday life of a young woman fighting against conservatism in the Bolsonaro era.
