Swiss violinist Esther Hoppe will open musicAndeer 2024 together with pianist Sergey Tanin. Two contrasting works by Sergei Prokoviev, his Second Violin Sonata and the "Melodies", are complemented by Mozart's lively F major Sonata and Olivier Messiaen's colourful early work, his "Theme with Variations". Esther Hoppe is one of Switzerland's most sought-after musicians and has played as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra.
