"The Walser Ship" - Review of a Theatre Project

It could tell many stories, the old, somewhat dreamy village square in Splügen. A very special one was written in the summer of 1984: "The Walser Ship".
Exhibition and film screenings on the unforgettable theatre project in the Rheinwald.

It has been 40 years since this extraordinary theatre project was premiered in Splügen. Under the direction of director Gian Gianotti, actor Andrea Zogg and over 50 amateur actors from the valley told the story of the resistance against the flooding of the Rhine Forest in 1944. In order to generate electricity, a power plant consortium wanted to build a dam wall and dam the Hinterrhein.

On Friday, July 19, the vernissage with aperitif and film screening will take place on the Oberdorfplatz (in case of rain, film screening in the schoolhouse)
On Sunday, September 1, there will be a film screening with coffee and cake in the community hall of the schoolhouse.

This is a project of the Heimatmuesum Rheinwald and the municipality of Rheinwald.
