"The Walser Ship" - Vernissage and open-air film screening

It could tell many stories, the old, somewhat dreamy village square in Splügen. A very special one was written in the summer of 1984: "The Walser Ship".
Exhibition and film screenings on the unforgettable theatre project in the Rheinwald.

It has been 40 years since this extraordinary theatre project was premiered in Splügen. Under the direction of director Gian Gianotti, actor Andrea Zogg and over 50 amateur actors from the valley told the story of the resistance against the flooding of the Rhine Forest in 1944. In order to generate electricity, a power plant consortium wanted to build a dam wall and dam the Hinterrhein.

Program

• 7.30 p.m. Vernissage with discussion in the exhibition in the stable, followed by an aperitif
• Approx. 9.00 p.m. Film screening "The Waler Ship", original footage from 1984
  (in case of rain, the film screening will take place in the school building)

No registration required.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, July 20 - Sunday, September 15, 2024, with opening hours from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
On Sunday, September 1, there will be a film screening with coffee and cake in the community hall of the schoolhouse.
