Wiedemann/Mettler: unexpected desire

We are pleased to announce unexpected desire – the first exhibition of the Zurich artist duo Wiedemann/Mettler with Galerie Urs Meile.
Pascale Wiedemann and Daniel Mettler use the 17th-century Engadine House in Ardez with interventions created specifically for the site. In the former stable, visitors enter a landscape of longing, which the artists have built from photographs of the island of Capri. The very landscape that – like the Engadine – has always attracted philosophers, artists and those tired of urban life and serves as a projection screen for longings, dreams and ideas. In the Stüva, a house spirit spreads, while the installation in the Spensa – the former pantry of the house – takes up the sacred-looking architecture and changes it in surprising ways. The exhibition is supplemented by new photographic and textile works.
