Event Heidiland
Winter hike: Celebrate New Year's Eve at over 2,000 meters above sea level!
Description
daily
On this two-day tour to the Spitzmeilen area (Flumserberg) we spend the night in the
new Spitzmeilenhütte SAC and at midnight in exclusive surroundings
the new year! On the way we let ourselves be enchanted by the deep snow-covered
sea of peaks and the fantastic panoramic view!
New Year’s Eve:
From the Maschgenkamm, located at 2020 m above sea level, we start over the snow-covered alpine meadows. Soon we have left the railway facilities and the piste area behind us and hike through the alpine landscape with a wonderful panoramic view. Depending on the conditions, we can walk (winter hike) or put on our snowshoes in between. We cross the extensive area of the Furschner plateau, modelled by the glacier, and reach the foot of the striking Spitzmeilen summit, where the Spitzmeilenhütte is enthroned on a rocky outcrop with great views. Far away from any civilization, it defies the forces of nature all alone. Here we settle in and then toast to a happy new year at over 2000 meters above sea level at midnight!
A great mountain hut ambience awaits us with dinner menu, fire, champagne and fireworks included!
New Year:
After sleeping in and a fine breakfast, we take the way back under our feet. In the fascinating morning mood, we walk over panoramic plateaus and through the large valley basin. With a bit of luck we will see ptarmigans or mountain hares on the way. The glitter of millions of snow crystals enchants us. The fantastic mountain panorama – our view extends to the peaks of Graubünden, Liechtenstein and Austria – accompanies us to the alpine stables of Fursch and Panüöl, where an alpine restaurant invites us to take a break. A short ascent we get back to the mountain station of the Maschgenkammbahn, where we started yesterday.
