Description

The Muttseehütte SAC is located south of Linthal on a high plateau above the Muttsee, which gives it its name. Property of the SAC Winterthur section. Sleeps 76. dormitories and rooms. Restaurant with space for 60 people. Beautiful sun terrace. Base of the Glarus long-distance hiking trail Via Glaralpina.

The hut is not far from the Muttsee dam; at 1054 metres, it is the longest in Switzerland and at around 2500 metres above sea level, it is the highest in Europe.

It was with great pleasure that we, that is Rahel and Cornel, were able to take over the hut keys of the Muttseehütte SAC on October 31, 2024. Since then, we have been preparing for approx. mid-June 2025.
