Description

Special exhibition "Neben der Spur - Off the track"

Sailing ships from Vienna glide through the Engadin and Bergell towards Lake Como. There they meet barges that come from Rotterdam through a gigantic system of pipes and locks at the Splügen Pass into Lake Como and continue on to Genoa. Sounds bizarre? The Maloja Inn Canal and the shipping route over the Splügen Pass are just two of many visionary projects that will be shown alongside the lost, the outlandish, the remote, the animalistic, etc.

Model railway

The model railway workshop shows exceptional, detailed buildings, viaducts and tunnels of the Rhaetian Railway in the condition of the 1950s and 1960s in 0m scale. It was designed as a workshop. The builder Bernhard Tarnutzer is regularly on site and is happy to provide information about the construction and design of the facility. The demonstration time is indicated on site (usually from 15.00 h). You can also experience a virtual driver's cab ride through the model railway layout.
