Description
A beautiful, varied 3-day hike across the national park. You feel far away from civilization and we have never seen so many deer, ibex, chamois and marmots as on this hike.
Overnight stays at Hotel Il Fuorn and Chamanna Cluozza are highly recommended. The hotel is super nice and offers very fine food, but costs some money. The SAC hut (Chamanna Cluozza) is very nicely located and very cozy, also here the food was very fine.
Geheimtipp
You hike here mostly in the national park, so please observe the rules!
During the hunting season, you are most likely to see animals here.
For the overnight stays must be reserved in advance at both places, otherwise it may have no more space.
Sicherheitshinweis
The 3rd day is a blue and white marked alpine hike, if you do not dare to do this you can also simply hike down from the SAC hut to Zernez.
There are partly scree fields that are a bit slippery, sticks help!
On the third day of the descent in Val Müschauns, it has a place where ropes are mounted.
Ausrüstung
Good hiking boots are mandatory!
Rain jacket and rain pants are on a 3-day hike anyway!
Directions
Day 1 (approx. 5.5h)
From Scuol, take the Postbus towards S-charl and get off at the Val Mingèr stop. Then walk up the Val Mingèr to Sur il Foss. From there it goes first along the slope and then steeply through a scree field up to the Fuorcla Val dal Botsch, the highest point of the first day. Then down the Val dal Botsch to the pass road and down the valley to the Hotel Il Fuorn.
Day 2 (approx. 5.5h)
Alternatively, you could take the Postbus from Il Fuorn to Vallun Chafuol, or go via Alp la Schera to Vallun Chafuol. We decided to take the route via Alp Grimmels. From Vallun Chafuol it then goes steeply zigzagging up to the Fuorcla Murter. Near the top of the pass we were able to observe about 60 deer, ibex and chamois grazing across each other. On the other side just as steeply down to Chamanna Cluozza.
Day 3 (approx. 6.5h)
This hike is marked blue and white, i.e. there is no actual path in places, but is no problem for usual hikers.
First the path goes up the Val Cluozza and then turns into the Val Sassa. The whole Val Sassa is a huge scree field or a block glacier, which you now have to climb. The last part to the top of the pass it goes steeply up a partly slippery scree field. On the other side it goes down the Val Müschauns, which offers very impressive rock formations. A short place is equipped with ropes so that you can cross the rocks more safely. Down in the valley you turn into Val Trupchun and walk to the Parkhütte Varusch. If you still like you can walk even further or take the "Zügli" from here to the train station S-chanf (note timetable).
