Description
The route of the Maloja Express starts on the Maloja Pass, with a view back to the Engadine Lake District and then swings on the narrow bends of the pass road airily down into bergell, the Val Bregaglia, the valley of the artist family Giacometti. The route leads past all Bergeller villages, partly through old chestnut forests, to the border in Castasegna. Flat sections alternate with steep and challenging ascents and descents. However, the downhill altitude meters predominate by far, which makes the tour a real treat!
On the way, you can always visit the old villages with their numerous historical sites, be it castle ruins, churches or Italian-looking palazzi. In the various restaurants of the valley, delicious local specialties await bikers. Some restaurants also offer the possibility to check bicycles and then continue to ride strengthened and safe.
