Albigna - Passo Casnile (CH)- T2

A few steps from Maloja, in Swiss territory, in Pranzaira a small cable car leads to this splendid refuge nestled between the mountain ranges of the Val d'Albigna, a side valley of the Bregaglia, just above the Albigna lake from which you can catch an unmissable glance of the jagged granite walls of the Sciora group and the Spazzacaldeira.

From the arrival station, go up to the right of the mighty wall where you can admire the wonderful lake and the view of the entire basin. The refuge is clearly visible on the left side.

Walking along the top of the wall you reach the opposite bank. where the path leads to the Albigna Refuge (mt 2336). 

Leaving the refuge, we will then continue towards the Casnile Pass, a communication route between the Albigna valley and the Forno valley, characterized by an extensive glacier.

Arrived at the pass, we go back for the same path, except for a small stretch where we leave the trace.
