The inn can be seen from Poschiavo and offers a magnificent view of the Puschlav and the glacier. Comfortable high-altitude path along the slope to the Pozzo del Dagro junction (from where you could descend to the small lake Lagh de l'Ombra in 20 minutes or ascend to Sassal Masone). But we keep the direction and walk on a stony path slightly uphill towards "Ospizio Bernina". Shortly before the dam, the paths split again: Sassal Masone, 0.30 h: To the left uphill it would go to the magnificent viewpoint Sassal Masone. Direct view to the Palü Glacier (restaurant with overnight accommodation) Ospizio Bernina, 0.40 h: To the right of the lake, a comfortable, busy gravel road leads to the ospizio Bernina railway station with buffet (the pass hotel is located 10 minutes above the railway station on the pass road). Further around the lake, a meadow path leads to the watershed (0.35 h) We choose the path to the left along the lake. To do this, we go left up to the dam, where a narrow, stony path leads along the shores of Lake Bianco. At the watershed at the northern dam, the shore paths meet again. Over high moor area you pass the deep blue lake Lej Nair to Lej Pitschen and continue towards "Lagalp" (do not pay attention to the junction "Mountain station Diavolezza 2.30 h"!). The path becomes wider and crosses twice under the railway line, which passes through the site in semicircles. At Alp Bondo you walk a bit along the tracks. On the pastures, cows and calves are kept together - keeping dogs on a leash! At the junction "Station Lagalp" keep the direction. Convenient way through the plateau to the valley station of the Diavolezza cable car with the train stop "Bernina Diavolezza" next door. Detour: In fine weather, the cable car ride to the Diavolezza mountain station is worthwhile; Mountain. Fantastic view of glacier and Piz Palü. We walk 100 m left past the valley station and cross a damp high moor area; if it is too wet, you can follow the meadow path half-right; 5 minutes later the paths meet again. On the other side of the valley we see the Bernina houses - for the first time Pontresina ("Puntraschigna" in Romansh) is indicated here. Our path bypasses a pasture, leads up to the edge of the forest, and after the Bernina Suot stop leads back down to the plain (after the grazing season, the direct meadow path can be used). In the direction of "Morteratsch" it goes straight through moor fields and pastures until a staircase leads up to the forest hill God Chapütschöl. The path winds its way past romantic spots, through fragrant pine forest, past imposing waterfalls and gives the view towards the Morteratsch Glacier. Downhill you go to the train station Morteratsch. On the garden terrace of the restaurant we enjoy the view of the Morteratsch Glacier and the Bernina massif.
