Description

How can you pursue your greatest passions with offspring? You just take him with you. Never before have we put so much planning effort into a tour and never before has the experience factor been so high. It was just great - that's why we want to share the tour here.

The challenge: A "self-made" alpine cross a little away from the well-known "touring transalps" with MTB character, but paths that can be ridden safely with a child trailer and if pass roads are ridden, then only those with little to no traffic. The result is a colorful mix of cycle paths, forest and gravel paths, small wider trails and pass roads without main traffic, which gave us 11 unforgettable days.

Geheimtipp

Carrying out a Transalp as a small family requires some certainties. In addition to the weather, perfect physical condition, top driving technique with trailer and absolutely clean planning, there is also constant attention to ensure that the passenger lacks nothing, is doing well and is in a good mood. Pulling through by hook or by crook is anything but recommended.

The first 7 stages always run parallel to the Rhaetian Railway, which offers high flexibility in case of bad weather, or other problems - thank God we didn't take advantage of it.

Sicherheitshinweis

Some narrower paths were easily passable with the single-seater trailer. For two-seaters, it could be tight, especially before and after Davos and up to the Bernina Pass (dodging on the pass road).

Avoid busy roads at all costs. Trailer combination in front and "trailerless bike" behind offers the necessary safety for the head on roads.
