A wonderful MTB ride in the Engadine (Switzerland) starting from Punt Muragl and passing through the Lej Alv and the Suvretta Pass, watched from Piz Nair. Do not miss the exciting descent in the very long Val Bever that will give you very strong emotions.

Description
Starting point: Punt Muragl (1738 m) Switzerland
Length: 40.3
Maximum altitude: 2685 m Mount de Sant Maruzzan
Total difference in altitude uphill: 1291 m
Arrival: Punt Muragl (1738 m) Switzerland
Cycling: 100% - 85% dirt and 15% asphalt
Water along the way: YES - Celerina - Beverin - Bever river junction
How to get there: from Sondrio take the SS38 to Tirano and after the Sanctuary of the Madonna, at the roundabout, turn left towards Campocologno. After crossing the Italy/Switzerland border in Campocologno follow the signs for Poschiavo and then continue to the Bernina pass. Continue towards Pontresina and after a while, you arrive at Punt Muragl where on the right there is a large free parking.
After parking the car we start our adventure in the company of Giulia and Mauro, crossing the Bernina road 29 and continuing on the bike path. We are at just over 1700 m above sea level and the temperature is around 6 ° C. We cross the bridge over the Flaz stream, turn right and continue slightly downhill towards Celerina. We pass under the road that leads to St. Moritz, turn left, pedal on the bike path and arrive near the medieval church of San Gian where we stop. The day is very beautiful, in the sky there are few clouds, we see Piz Nair in the distance and we think that a nice ride awaits us to reach it. We arrive in Celerina, cross the bridge over the river Inn (En in Romansh language) and begin the climb. We continue straight on via Giassa das las Barrieras, cross the railway tracks, pedal on via Lavinas until we reach the point where the yellow vertical signs indicate Alp Laret and Marguns. From the bridge over the river Inn to here we walked 590 meters with an average slope of 8.6%. A magnificent dirt road begins with a dirt road and covered with a light layer of breciolino that will accompany us to Munt de Sant Murezzan (2659 m). We set up a regular ride and slowly gain altitude. The first kilometer of dirt road has an average gradient of 12.4%. The next kilometer has an average gradient of 9.4% and we push on the pedals gaining altitude. We stop from time to time to take pictures because the place is particularly scenic. On our left we clearly see the arrival of the Muottas Muragl funicular (2456 m), where we had been the previous Sunday (LINK). Every now and then a marmot pops up in the meadows but without throwing their characteristic whistle, a clear sign that they have become accustomed to the passage of man. We face four hairpin bends and arrive at the 90-meter-high steel antenna built in 1973 and used for the transmission of radio and television programs. We look out from the panoramic balcony and photograph Lake St. Moritz and the mountain peaks. We continue on a path up to Alp Laret (2103 m) where the vertical signs indicate on the right Marguns (0.40 hours) and Corviglia (oer 1.15). We photograph Piz Nair and, below, the Lej from Champfèr. The landscape is truly magnificent and we are happy to be here. We get back in the saddle and after a hard climb we arrive at Marguns (2279 m).
