CH - FURCLA SURLEJ.

summer -photo:bit.ly/3Pp5UYi -video track:www.relive.cc/view/vAOZoKW8Ky6 - Route (E-T2) of about 20 kilometers - positive elevation gain of 1095 meters. - Once in the Engadine, in Silvaplana you reach the opposite Surlej where you can leave your car in the large free parking lot (1809 m / asl). At the back of the nearby bus stop, the path begins that climbs into the forest in a southerly direction and further on continues on the one that goes to the Lej dal Chods (2153 m / asl - Hahnensee ). Near this lake we proceed westwards; As soon as you step out of the forest you have a very panoramic view of the Upper Engadine and its large lakes. Arrived at an altitude of 2450 m / asl, immediately after a viewpoint with a bench, there would be the possibility of deviating to the left and climbing to the top of Piz Surlej, instead continue west and pass next to the intermediate station of the Corvatsch cable car. The path deviates in a S-W direction and at an altitude of 2690 m / asl intercepts the cycle path that climbs to the Furcla Surlej pass (2760 m / asl) where we find a small lake and the large Berghaus Furcla Surlej. You are on the pass that connects the Engadine to the Val Roseg and you are truly enchanted by another magnificent panorama that appears in front of you: some of the most important peaks of the Bernina Group with all its glaciers and the unmistakable Biancograt ridge. Just below the pass there is the junction from where you could go towards the Chamanna Coaz Refuge or with the left one you descend to Val Roseg.
