It is advisable, before leaving, to evaluate what is the best starting point to make the most of the exposure to the sun of the paths you are going to follow. Once you reach Maloja and its lake, park in Capolago (1795 m above sea level) where the path that climbs to Plan di Zoch on the left orographic side of the Upper Engadine begins. Here it is possible to turn right to follow the shorter route that passes through Grevasalvas. Continuing westwards on the "Roter Weg" you reach the beautiful alpine lake of Lunghin (2490 m / asl) which is nestled between the majestic peaks of Piz Lunghin and Piz Grevasalvas; in front of it you can admire Cima di Rosso, Cima di Castello, Piz Roseg and Piz Fedoz. On the eastern side of the lake, the path begins, to be followed with a little caution which, making a long traverse under the rocky walls and above the vertical escarpments, slowly loses altitude and arrives at Plan Grand (2120 m / asl). Continuing in this direction you pass next to the small alpine pearl with the beautiful huts of Grevasalvas. Here you take path No. 53 which goes in the direction of Silvaplana and after walking for a couple of kilometers you leave it to descend to Clos which is located at the entrance to Sils. Now, following the lakeside route, the last 5 kilometers of this excursion begin, which follow the entire southern shore of the large body of water, also passing through Isola and the area that is transformed into a campsite during the summer.
