CH - PIZ CHÜERN

summer -photo:bit.ly/3TJrJVA -video track:www.relive.cc/view/v36A3MKw1Gv - Route (E-T2) of about 17 kilometers - positive elevation gain 940 meters. - Beautiful and easy hike in the Engadine, more precisely in Val di Fex. By car you can reach Sils and then the large parking lot where there is the departure station of the Furtschellas cable car (1795 m / asl). Although you could take the path from this car park in the direction of Alp Prasura right away, it is nicer to enter the nearby village of Sils-Maria and take the path that starts near the house of F. Nietzsche, near a small old weather station. Climb up the right orographic side of the Val di Fex walking in a dense forest that ends when you arrive near Alp Marmorè (2199 m / asl). Continuing to climb in a S-E direction, you enter the large pasture of Alp Munt (2439 m/asl) from where you begin to admire some peaks of Valmalenco: Piz Fora, Piz Guz, Chaptschin, the famous Piz Tremoggia and its pass that connects Switzerland and Italy. From this mountain pasture you can see for the first time where Piz Chüern is, which seems like a challenging destination, but it is anything but, you can easily reach it by climbing to the beautiful Lej Sgrischus (2620 m/asl) and then from there you walk the very easy ridge that leads to the 2685 m/asl of the summit cairn. Excellent views of some of the peaks of the Engadine and the entire Val di Fex. Near the cairn in a S-W direction, take the path that leads to the bottom of the valley and then to the small village of Santa Margareta from where you continue on a small road that descends directly to Sils-Maria and continues to the starting point.  - no fountains - "bergheil" buonC@mmino -gpx(seteTRAK):bit.ly/3THdmkQ -interactive route:www.relive.cc/view/v36A3MKw1Gv/explore
