Description

Enjoy the wonderful nature of Vals and the tranquillity of the surrounding mountain landscape on this varied circular hike.

Directions

You start in Valé and take the hiking trail to Leis. The path continues steeply uphill to Gadastatt. The hike continues northwards, signposted Stafelti, Leisalp. The path climbs steeply for a short time and crosses the long flank that stretches from the village to the base of the Breitagraat. After another steep ascent, you reach the Maiensässsiedlung Stafelti. The trail descends gently along the dirt road to the Hängelahütte and continues past the Matta until a signpost leads you away from the road onto a narrow path - past the Volchtanna - into a dense forest. Back on the road for a short while before the path continues through the forest towards the village. On the road, turn right again towards the back of the village, to Valé.

Public Transport

Take the SBB to Chur and then the RhB to Ilanz. The last 20km from Ilanz to Vals by PostBus every hour.

Anreise Information

After Chur, take the highway exit in the direction of Reichenau/Flims, Disentis. Follow the road Flims-Laax-Ilanz, in Ilanz turn off at the traffic circle towards Vals.
