Description

From this lovely mountain meadow, you can continue again to the Ponciagna huts. This last extension, however, leads along a barely existing path, but allows you to return to Savogno through the valley of the Acquafraggia.

Directions

The hike starts at the highest house in Serlone. Follow the steps of the beautiful mule track to Savogno (932 m, about 1.30 h). Behind the village, cross the stream and follow the path to the houses of Dasile. From the small square in the middle of the village, the path leads up to the nearby Terabionda terrace. After the mountain huts at the edge of the forest, continue along the beautiful mule track with steps until you first come across the dilapidated huts of Corbisot, and then the lower boundary of the vast hay meadows of Corbia (1520 m). From here, the meadow terrace spreads out and the view sweeps far across the whole valley.
If you want to continue towards Ponciagna, you climb to the upper edge of the meadows and for a while in the coniferous forest, before you come to a long cross-country stretch that runs towards Ponciagna and Lago Acquafraggia. The route still requires some ups and downs before overcoming a dip and arriving at the crumbling huts of Serigna. A massive staircase and a final cross-cut lead to the mountain huts of Ponciagna (1816 m), where the trail turns off towards Lake Acquafraggia. On the descent from Ponciagna to Savogno, you walk across the wide meadows of Alpigia (from Ponciagna to Savogno, expect about 2 hrs).
