Description
You can expect an easy 3,000-metre peak "in passing", the magnificent panorama of the Bernina Group and, up to Laj da Diavolezza, a moderately difficult mountain trail in the typical post-glacial stone desert landscape of the high mountains. From the mountain station, the route first leads on an easy alpine trail, partly over boulders, to the 3,000-metre Sass Queder with a great view. Follow the same path back to the mountain station of the chairlift. From now on it's downhill. At first still not difficult up to the level of today's end of the dead ice field of the Diavolezza glacier / first glacial lake. If you don't know the SAC scale T3 trails, you can continue here around the lake to the ski slopes and on an easy path. We follow the summer path and climb through a path secured with stairs / ropes and chains to Laj da Diavolezza. From there, simply on ski slopes into the valley. If you want to avoid the slopes, you can also walk the lower section on mountain paths (see illustrations) Orientation: white-red-white to Laj da Diavolezza, then unmarked. Inexperienced hikers should take a map and navigation system with them Types of trails: up to Laj da Diavolezza intermediate mountain paths partly with coarser boulders (65%), rest gravel road Refreshment stops: Diavolezza mountain station Cable car time: www.corvatsch-diavolezza.ch/aktuelles/betriebszeiten
Geheimtipp
For people with limited surefootedness, there is the possibility to switch to the ski slopes at the uppermost glacial lake (short stretch without path). See marking on map.
Tour of course also possible in the ascent, return by mountain railway if necessary.
